This is where I write about Music
My hopes and wishes for 2023
- Dear 2023:
I would like new Yukari Fresh and Macdonald Duck Eclair albums to happen.
- It's about time the first three Shudder to Think albums received an audiophile remixing and remastering.
There are really nice melodies buried in a not so great production that need to be heard almost three decades later.
Some thoughts and happenings on music in 2022
- It was quite a shock to see that Be Your Own Pet is coming back.
Along with the Lunachicks, Amyl and the Sniffers they sure are going to
wake the world from the pandemic daze lol
- Oomori Seiko is yet to release a new album.
But anything can happen at any time, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled.
- Taylor Hawkins death is as untimely as can be. I'm not too fond of
the Foo's discography after their third album, but I like a song here and there
and they're going to be missed. RIP
- Whatever is going to happen to Queens of the Stone Age, I wanna know.
I didn't like the two last albums, but the Desert Sessions was a sign
that Josh has some fun music still in him. He just needs cool bandmembers.
How about having Joey Castillo, Alain Johannes and Matt Sweeney back?
Also, RIP Mark Lanegan. After he stopped appearing on Qotsa songs
the band didn't have an appeal to me. Great voice.
- It'ss december the 8th of year 2022 and I'm still obsessed with Yukari Fresh.
It doesn't get old for me. Love love love the music. I hope she's having a great life,
she deserves it.
Albums released on 2022 that I like (go check them out!)
- Trinchera by Babasónicos
- YO WAKARANGA by Eryyy
- STRESS de STRESS by ZOMBIE-CHANG
- Fear of the Dawn by Jack White. Ok, this might be his best album, consistent, good riffs, great sound.
The experimentation with electronic sounds that started on previous albums is now perfected. The White Stripes albums
do have fillers, and this new album does not, quite a feat. Bravo, happy-newly-married blue-headed Jack!!
- Choutengoku by Oomori Seiko What an album!! The idol stylings luckily are absent, the band is tight, the previously
released singles make much more sense for me in an album context. I love this direction for Seiko's career (and for my linstening pleasure)
Albums I'm obsessed with right now (2022 Q1)
- Yukari's Perfect and New Year's Fresh by Yukari Fresh might be the albums I'd like to take
to that desert island that somehow has power to play an album (up to five) and no more than that
As much as I love rock and guitars (looooooooooooooooooooove), these two albums have a charm that
takes me to an imaginary travel to Shibuya (where I've never been, but I've been living the fantasy
since the early 2000s) where every kid dresses cool and makes avantgarde music in their tiny bedroom
and then barely anybody shows up at the live venue.
Yukari Takasaki's last released material is from 2008, that's a long time ago and I'd be so surprised
and ViOlEnTlY HaPpy if she released new music...What would it sound like, after so many years?

- The Lunachicks finally debuted live after their reunion.
Watched the shows on YouTube. They were AWESOME, I'm so ready for more
